What should I expect on the day of the shoot?
We pride ourselves on our professionalism, and only expect the same from you. Just be on time and expect to have a friendly, easy-going session where we all leave with a smile!

I find cameras intimidating, I'm not sure getting my pictures taken is a good idea!
Here's a secret - we do too, that's why we stay behind them! Jokes apart it's normal to feel a bit uneasy while posing for photographs. Don't worry though, this won't be a session where you're expected to know what to do. Real people look best when they are put in real, everyday situations and that is how we work - keeping it natural. You'll do great!

What should I wear on the day of the shoot?
For a business shoot, wear what you would on a normal day at work.
For portraits (individual or family), you'll be most comfortable in the clothes you like wearing when you head out to meet friends or family. Dress smart like you normally would, and keep it comfy!
Is hair and makeup provided?
At the moment we don't cover those aspects of a shoot. It's best to arrange for them separately if you require them.
Do you manipulate images to alter how I look?
We have a strict love-yourself policy here, and work hard during the shoot to highlight your best features, using the most flattering angles to help you keep your best foot forward.
No alteration or adjustment is done in software to change your appearance or body structure in any way. The only things we remove are blemishes or marks (let us know if you wish to keep them in the shots) and stray hair, nothing else.
Is there a booking fee?
A 20% deposit is required to book your session, with the balance due 48 hours prior to the session.

I need to cancel/reschedule my session!
Cancellation or rescheduling (subject to our availability) is certainly possible.
Booking deposit is:
- 100% refundable for cancellations with more than a two week notice.
- 50%refundable for cancellations with more than a one week notice, but less than two weeks.
- Non-refundable for cancellations with less than one week's notice.

When do I get my images?
Standard turnaround times are 1-3 weeks after the shoot, subject to circumstances (being a small business it can get busy quickly!)

Within 30 km of Melbourne CBD - Basic pricing applies
Beyond 30 km of Melbourne CBD - Extra $35 per hour of driving time (rounded up half-hourly)

Are your prices flexible?
We operate on a fixed-pricing model for portraiture and events.

Commercial and photography for small businesses is more task-dependent since the specific requirements vary, and the pricing in flexible to reflect that.
What is the format in which images are provided and how do you deliver the final images?
All images are shot in raw, which is the highest quality any camera can shoot at. This allows us to use the maximum amount of detail from each image to create the final product.
Once the editing process (which can take multiple days depending on the size of the project) is finished, all the files are uploaded to a secure folder on Google Drive or Dropbox. The link to these files is shared with you so that you may download them in their maximum quality.
Will Pilopix use any of my images?
We do use your images for self-promotion and advertising online and via print media. This is a vital part of the business and is helps us in providing you a more affordable service.
In case you wish for any (or all) of your images to not be used for these purposes, we will be happy to do so. Please note this may require the pricing of our service to increase.
